The Cipher Brief is a media organization focused on national security & cyber, producing multiple sold-out conferences, news, podcasts, and influential newsletters. In my position as the art director, I owned creative direction, including web design, digital and event marketing, advertising, and brand strategy and direction.

The Cipher Brief over the last nearly 10 years, has expanded beyond their original brand to create shows, new events, and additional content tentpoles to bolster their presence. As such, the original brand had been watered down as new elements were continually added.
I worked with leadership to redevelop the brand, establishing a style guide that would help guide them as they continued to grow, and rework extension elements so they felt cohesive and on-brand.

Following in line with the brand refresh, I redesigned their website, thecipherbrief.com, reorganizing their complex media content to increase user stickiness and engagement.
Marketing: spearhead audience growth strategies, promo barters, communication and editorial plan
Advertising: creation and implementation of internal audio promos, ad strategy and planning
Producing: Content ideation, scheduling, audio editing, system management, and adaptation of content for social media

For each event, we produced a piece of original art that gave users a sense of the topic, and subsequently produced additional art informed by that central work.
